**************************Where we come from**************************
*********************************************************************************
In August of last year I had the good fortune to meet one of those gentlemen I spoke of a few days ago.
And I mean that in it's literal way... a gentle man. AlexHayden joined us at Benares. It said a lot to me when he chose to retain the parcel name Bliss that had been given to that far Southeast corner of our east homestead by another gentle man, Andor.

Bliss @ Benares East
Alex has been our resident grid traveler, a fellow blogger , and an all around supporter of not only my efforts at Benares but the efforts of several of my friends as well as a supporter of where Secondlife could go if we just could get The Benevolent Monarchy to listen to us.
I find Alex to be a very interesting guy...
Take a look at a couple of things I've found out about him.
First, what you will find on his Secondlife profile:
"Happily wandering the roads of the Omniverse...
There's a voice that keeps on calling me
Down the road, that's where I'll always be.
Every stop I make, I make a new friend,
Can't stay for long, just turn around and I'm gone again
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down,
Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on....."
And then his first life text:
"In real life, I play piano with a band at a small theatre run by a green frog and whose performers include a pig with Diva like tendencies and a bear who simply isn't funny...."
Now that is funny!
Then... there's the serious, compassionate guy.

And in that life where I sleep I have people ask me why I spend time in virtual worlds....
They ask because they never meet the kinds of people I meet in these worlds.
And so it goes
My love to you all, brinda

Awww Brinda!! You did a post on me? I thought you'd pick one of the other guys before me! Thank you so much for that..(blushes like mad.. :D)
ReplyDeleteYou know, not so long ago we had a conversation about the tier I pay for Bliss (I think some gormless numpty had grumbled to you about the prices). It was obvious you were bothered by that so I think I mentioned that the cost to me was no more than the cost of daily Newspaper here in the UK to try and ease your concerns.
But there is another, greater reason why I stay and why I pay each month.
Loyalty. Not the manufactured, faux variety but the loyalty that comes from the human heart, out of respect.
To Vic. To Ling. To Raven. To Porter and everyone else that lives here. To everything that people strive to achieve there. A sense of community...
But mostly loyalty to you, for the huge financial sacrifice you give to make it all possible for us to live on the Estate. So as long as there is a Benares, there will always be a Bliss.
Thank you Brinda. Completely flattered that you feel I am worthy of a post!
ReplyDeleteAlex... Hugs, =^..^=
